Subscription Update Obituary

Louis G. LaFontaine, 75, of Sagamore Beach, formerly of Worcester, died Monday, December 11, 2006 in the Forestview Nursing Home, Wareham. He was the widower of the late Astrid "Pat" (Williamson) LaFontaine.

He was born in Worcester and lived there for many years before moving to Sagamore Beach.

Mr. LaFontaine was a Korean War Veteran serving during World War II.

Mr. LaFontaine worked as a shoe salesman for R.H. Whites, Moran Shoes and Shack's Clothes all in Worcester. He later worked in the Maintenance Department & Environmental Building Services at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Worcester. He retired in 1986.

He loved big band music, Sinatra, and playing the drums. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox.

Survivors include his son, William LaFontaine of Sagamore Beach; 2 sisters, Phyllis Dube of Sanford, FL and Theresa Pothier of Worcester; 3 grandsons, Jason, Keith and Kyle LaFontaine. He was predeceased by his sons, Gary and Kenneth LaFontaine.

His funeral service will be private. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Visiting hours have been omitted.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assoc., 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.

Arrangements are by the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28), Wareham.
