Subscription Update Obituary

     Lorraine M. (Boucher) Markowski, 93, of Pleasant Valley Drive, died Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at Webster Manor in Webster. She was predeceased by her husband of 18 years, Theodore A. Markowski; her first husband, Ralph Poole; her daughter, Lorna M. Dion; and her brother, Walter Boucher. She is survived by her son, William E. Poole and his wife Janice of Dudley; her son-in-law, George Dion of North Oxford; 6 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Walter and Ethel (Bond) Boucher, and was a lifelong resident of Worcester. She graduated from South High School in Worcester.

     Mrs. Markowski was a dietary supervisor at the former Worcester City Hospital in Worcester for over 30 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church in Worcester and was an active volunteer for the Salvation Army. She loved dancing, especially line dancing, and enjoyed going to the beach and spending time with her family and close friends.

     A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 28, 2013, at St. Ann’s Church, 652 Main St., North Oxford. The family respectfully requests everyone to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 640 Main St., Worcester, MA 01608, or to Brookhaven Hospice, 6 Beech Street, Framingham, MA 01702.
