Subscription Update Obituary

Lloyd A. Lavalle, 78, of 2 Comins Rd., died Wednesday, September 20 at his home after an illness. He leaves his wife of 28 years, Bertha L. (Goding) Lavalle; his first wife and friend, Barbara Lavalle of Oxford; two sons, Ernest Lavalle of Oxford, Lloyd Lavalle of Dudley; four daughters, Theresa Cameron of Rutland, JoAnne Lavalle of Oxford, Kathleen Jones of Leicester, Elaine Fort of Rutland; two sisters, Jeannette Merulla of Worcester and Rita Berryman of Auburn; 20 grandchildren; 11 greatgrandchildren; a step-son, Frederick Rogers of Spencer; three step-daughters, RaeMarie Blaire of Leicester, Mae Ireland of Oxford and April White of Douglas. He was pre-deceased by a son, Alan Lavalle of Worcester; two brothers, Bernard Lavalle, Lawrence Lavalle; three sisters, Dora Preitryzca, Claire Merulla and Lorraine Gustafson. He was born in Worcester, the son of Ernest & Pearl (Young) Vincent.

Mr. Lavalle was a welder for 31 years at Smith Valve in Westborough, retiring in 1986. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus of Leicester, #4528, a Quarter Master of the former Leicester All Girl Drum and Bugle Corps, and the Auburn Century Sportsman Club pitch league. He also enjoyed BINGO and going to the casino's.

The funeral will be held Saturday, September 23 from the MORRISON-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Aloysius-St. Jude Church, 489 Pleasant St., Leicester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be Friday from 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home. Please omit flowers. Contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association of Central MA., 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA. 01608.
