Subscription Update Obituary

Lincoln W. Stowe, Jr. of Millbury, and formerly of Worcester, died Tuesday, April 19, 2011.

His beloved wife, Aldina (Bozzi) Stowe, died in 1991. He leaves two daughters: Diane M Giampa and her husband Dana of Millbury, with whom he lived, Karen A. Roy and her husband Cyril of East Hartford, Conn.; a son, Christopher L. Stowe and his wife Melissa of Sutton; eight grandchildren: Cody and Jordan Giampa, Rachel, Madeleine, Kathryn and Harrison Roy, and Lucas and Leah Stowe; a brother, George F. Stowe and his wife Joanne of Grafton; a cousin, Philip T. Leader of Shrewsbury; a dear friend, Jim Fitzpatrick of Sutton, and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Stowe was born in Worcester, son of Lincoln W. Stowe, Sr. and Margaret M. (Kilcoyne) Stowe and lived in Millbury for over fifty years. He returned to and lived in Worcester for more than 15 years before recently moving back to Millbury.

He graduated from Northeastern University in 1960 with a degree in pharmacy. In 1988, he earned a Master’s degree in business administration from Anna Maria College in Paxton, which he attended with his daughter Diane.

Mr. Stowe was a registered pharmacist and proudly owned and ran Ballard Pharmacy serving the Millbury community for more than 20 years. Previously, he was a polymer research chemist for the Borden Chemical Co. in Leominster.

He was a member of St. Anne’s Church in Shrewsbury and a former member of St. Brigid’s Church in Millbury. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and belonged to the Olive Branch Lodge in Millbury. He also belonged to the Scottish Rite as well as the Shriners. He enjoyed playing golf at Pleasant Valley Country Club.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Millbury Healthcare Center for their kindness and compassion in caring for Lincoln during his illness.

Funeral services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sutton Junior High School National Honor Society in honor of Aldina Stowe, 375 Boston Road, Sutton 01590.

The Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester, is directing arrangements.
