Subscription Update Obituary

Leslie W.C. Philbrook, 97, died Monday, May 14, 2012 in his son’s home, surrounded by his loving family.
Leslie’s wife, Virginia (Lantz) Philbrook died in 1998. He leaves two sons, Harold Philbrook and his wife, Carilyn from Jordanville, NY and Bill Philbrook and his wife, Dianne with whom Leslie lived with in Sutton; five grandchildren, Michael Philbrook and his wife, Melissa of Uxbridge, Michelle Ouellette and her husband, Nate of Sutton, Nicholas Philbrook and his wife, Janelle of Beaufort, S.C., Melissa Philbrook of Watertown and Steven Philbrook of West Boylston; seven great grandchildren, Emily, Julia, Thomas, Gracie, Elya, Duncan and Sam; and a great grand-dog, Lexi. He was born and raised in Sherbon, MA and is predeceased by his parents, Leslie and Susan (Colton) Philbrook.
Leslie served in the US Army during World War II. He worked for Norton Company for 38 years and enjoyed fixing car’s and TV’s in his spare time. He raised his family in Millbury and enjoyed daily visits to the Millbury Senior Center for many of his retirement years. Leslie and his wife were active members of the former Raymond Memorial Church in Millbury and Worcester County Christian Endeavor. Leslie enjoyed spending time with family, especially his great grandchildren and playing cards with his grand-daughter, Michelle. At age 97 you would often see him working around the yard.
Leslie’s calling hours will be held on Saturday, May 19th from 3 to 5 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. His funeral service, which will be officiated by his son Harold, will immediately follow the calling hours at 5 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice or to the Wounded Warrior Project. http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
