Subscription Update Obituary

    Leona M. “Lee” (Gosselin) Laramee died peacefully Wednesday, May 6, 2009 in Worcester at the age of 84. She was the beloved wife of 62 years to Al Laramee, who died in 2007.

  She was the loving mother of Linda Liberty of Worcester, John Laramee and his wife Terry of Lowell, James Laramee of Oxford, Lisa Murphy and her husband James of Shrewsbury and Paul Laramee and his wife Sharon of Shrewsbury. She also leaves 11 grandchildren, Carrie Ann Orr, and Robert and David Brady; Scott, Michael, Nicole, Michelle and Brittany Laramee; and Eric, Caitlin and Bryan Murphy; and six great grandchildren; and a sister, Rita Gould of Northbridge.

    Born in Grafton, she was the daughter of the late Albin and Adeline (Richard) Gosselin. She was also predeceased by three brothers and four sisters.

    Lee was educated in the Grafton school system and resided in Auburn for 35 years. She later returned to Grafton and then lived in Shrewsbury before moving recently to Worcester.

    She worked at the College of the Holy Cross for many years. Upon retirement, she spent many winters in Naples, Florida with her husband Al, and served as a volunteer at UMass-Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.

    Lee was a loyal Celtics fan and enjoyed crafts, bingo and trips to Foxwoods. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend. Her warm heart and fun loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

    Calling hours are Friday, May 8 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral will be Saturday, May 9 from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln St., Worcester. Burial will be Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
