Subscription Update Obituary

     Lawrence G. Johnson, Sr., 72, of Wheelock St., died Sunday, June 10, 2012, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, from complications of diabetes. He is survived by three children, Lawrence Johnson Jr. and his wife Robin, Diane M. Brodeur and her husband Kevin, and Marc E. Johnson, all of Oxford; six grandchildren, Chad Brodeur, Cyndi Johnson, Derek Brodeur, Cassi Johnson, Christina Johnson, and Jaime Brodeur; his former wife, Faith (Fales) Johnson of Worcester; his former wife, Sandra J. (Little) Johnson of Oxford; and seven nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by two sisters, Shirley LaCoy and Frances Craft. He was born in Grafton, the son of the late Lawrence E. and Beatrice A. (Belanger) Johnson, and lived most of his life in Oxford. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
     Mr. Johnson worked at Norton Company in Worcester for 36 years, retiring in 2001. He was a member of St. Roch’s Church in Oxford and was a former member of the Oxford Fire Department, retiring as Lieutenant many years ago. He was an avid racing and Patriots fan, and enjoyed traveling to Cape Cod.
     A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 18, 2012, at St. Roch’s Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Please meet directly at the church. Military burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Memorial calling hours are Sunday, June 17, 2012, from 2-5 p.m. at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford.
