Laura Wheeler-Taylor, 36 of Torrington, Conn.,formerly of Plantation Street,an accomplished singer and artist,died Thursday at home after a long illness. 

  She leaves her husbband, Carl Taylor of Boston; two sons, Kyle Price of Worcester and Gregory Moore of Philadelphia; three daughters, Erica Price of Worcester, and Marquita and Angelina Moore, both of Philadelphia; her father Richard Wheeler of Worcester, her mother Roberta of Spring Hill, Fla.; a brother, David Wheeler of Worcester; two sisters,  Pamla Moore of Torrington, Conn. with whom she lived, and Christi Berry of Worcester and neices and nephews.  She was born in Worcester, moved to Philadelphia in 1982 ,and returned to  worcester 1990. She moved to Torrington last month.

  Mrs.Wheeler-Taylor was a soul singer for many years, performing with several bands in the Worcester and Philadelphia areas.  She was also a skilled artist, specializing in line and color drawings.

  At her request, no furneral service is planned.  After cremation, burial will be at the convenience of the family.  There are no calling hours.  In lieu of flowers,memeral contributions may be made to a charity. Gleeson Mortuary, 258 Prospect Street, Torrington, is directing arrangements.
