Subscription Update Obituary

     Laddie M. “Virginia” Comeau, 92, of Webster and formerly of Worcester, died comfortably at home on Monday, January 13, 2014.

     She leaves her son, John R. Comeau of Webster, with whom she lived; a daughter-in-law, Diana M. Comeau of Worcester, with whom she previously lived for many years; five grandchildren, James, John, Jennifer, Nicholas and Christopher Comeau; a great-grandson, Michael Comeau, and many nieces and nephews.

     Her husband of 45 years, Joseph A. Comeau, died in 1990. Her son Joseph P. Comeau died in 1995. Her grandson Matthew Comeau died in 1982.

     Laddie was born in McKees Rocks, Penn., daughter of Leon and Marie Astrausky. She moved to Worcester when she married in 1945. She moved to Webster 10 years ago.

     During World War II, she was civilian clerk typist at the Pentagon and typed orders from military commanders for the D-day invasion.

     She was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Church. She was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandson.

     The funeral Mass will be Friday, January 17 at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove St., Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. There are no calling hours.

     In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salesian Missions, P.O. Box 96567, Washington, DC 20090-6597.

     The Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester, is directing arrangements.
