Kenneth Steven Glynn, 68, of Crescent City, Florida passed away Tuesday, January 30th, 2024. He was known respectfully by the names Ken, Steve by family, but most called him Swampy. The most important people in his life called him Dad and Pops.
Ken was the son of the late Kenneth L. Glynn Jr. and Helen K. (McGurl) Glynn. He was born in Worcester, MA. He moved to Rutland in 1975 where he spent most of his life. In November 2021 he retired to Crescent City, Florida.
Ken Graduated in 1973 from Boys Trade School in Worcester, MA becoming an Electrician. He worked as a licensed Electrician for 40+ years. Ken was always busy and had a strong work ethic whether it be in his Electrical work or his personal projects. He had many hobbies including working on and riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycles as well as his 1941 International Panel Truck which he enjoyed taking both on his road trips to Daytona Bike Week. Ken looked forward to activities that involved being around friends and family. He enjoyed arranging cookouts with large bon fires at the Rutland house. He helped and participated in coordinating functions at the Rutland Sportsman’s Club including his cherished Toys for Tots Christmas Parties. After retiring to Crescent City, he enjoyed fishing, setting crab pots off the dock behind his house and sitting back and enjoying his beautiful view of Crescent Lake “Best view in the park.” He had the pleasure of having multiple Painted Bunting’s visit his bird feeder; he looked forward to seeing them and they were beautiful! He met many new neighbors in his Crescent Lake Waterfront Community and quickly became friends, working together and helping them with their projects while building strong bonds.
Ken leaves behind his two children; his son Jeremy Glynn with Debbie Bujnevicie and his Grandson, Gavin Glynn of Rutland, MA. His daughter Heidi Bolduc with Micah Bolduc of Gardner, MA.
Ken is predeceased by his brother, Billy Glynn. He leaves his brother Francis Glynn and wife Lee of Cape Coral, FL, along with four sisters, Kathleen Glynn-Whitney and wife, Gail of Rutland, MA, Eileen McCarthy and husband Kevin of Eastham, MA, Colleen Ruel and husband Roland of Cape Coral, FL and Maureen Glynn-Wallace and wife Joni of Cape Coral, FL. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life starting at 6 pm on Saturday, May 11th, 2024, at the Rutland Sportsman’s Club. Burial will be private.
