Subscription Update Obituary

Katherine P. (DiSalvo) Hemenway, 89, of Worcester, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, December 28, 2006.

She leaves two sons, Lloyd F. Hemenway, Jr. of Bushnell, FL and Roger L. Hemenway of Shrewsbury; two daughters, Joann M. Montbleau and her husband Richard of Holden and Kathleen A. Triola and her husband Francis of Sutton; a brother, Santo DiSalvo of York ME; a sister, Josephine MacAloney of Leominster; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 4 great great-grandchildren; many nephews and nieces. A brother, Anthony DiSalvo, and a sister, Rose Kelleher, predeceased her. She was born in Fitchburg, daughter of Luigio and Vincenza (Baglione) DiSalvo, and has lived in Worcester for over 60 years.

Mrs. Hemenway was a graduate of Fitchburg High School and attended the Burbank Hospital School of Nursing. She was a chef at Kressge's Company in Worcester for more than 20 years and later was a chef for Bonanza in Worcester. She was a member of St. Christopher's Church. She was a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved baking cakes, cookies and bread for her family who looked forward to receiving her treats.

The funeral for Mrs. Hemenway will be held on Tuesday, January 2, from the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Christopher's Church, 95 West Boylston St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday in the funeral home.
