Subscription Update Obituary

     Julien A. Beauregard, 90, died Tuesday morning December 3rd at Jefferson Medical Center, Ranson WV. He is survived by: His devoted wife, Mary Frances Beauregard and Granddaughter Jessica Robinson of Charles Town WV, Daughters Patricia Moen of Minneapolis, MN, Jean Laramie of Falmouth MA, and Kathleen Leitermann of Arlington MA, Son John Beauregard of Clinton MA, Brother Wilfred Beauregard of Berlin MA, seven other grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by four sisters, and two brothers, as well as by his first wife of 43 years, Mildred B. (Baker) Beauregard.

     Mr. Beauregard’s parents, Oscar Joseph and Flora (Guay) Beauregard, emigrated from Canada to Worcester, MA, where he was born March 14th 1923. He attended French Catholic schools, and entered the Navy at age 19. He served on a submarine destroyer in the Atlantic during WWII as a Radarman 3rd Class, leading to his career as an engineer, including 35 years with Sperry Gyroscope Corp. He was always fixing radios, televisions and other electronics for family and friends, and was known for his generous nature. He had a lifelong passion for handicapping thoroughbred horse racing, and was a fan of the Red Sox and Patriots.

     Mr. Beauregard was a long time active member and Quartermaster of Charles Town VFW post 3522. He spearheaded construction of their expanded facility in 1990, and donated the flag that stands by its door. He was also a member of Jackson-Perkins American Legion Post in Charles Town.

     A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 244 W. Main St., Northboro, MA at 10:00 am on Monday, December 9th, followed by interment at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Ave, Paxton, MA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: VFW Memorial Post 3522, 116 E. Liberty St., Charles Town, WV 25414.
