Subscription Update Obituary

     Joseph E. Greenfield, 69, passed Wednesday, May 22, 2013 after a long illness. He is survived by his brother, James Greenfield and his wife Joy of Shrewsbury and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Beverly Westerlind and a twin brother, John Greenfield.
     Joseph was born July 31, 1943 in Worcester, raised there the son of the late Paul and Irene (Blomquist) Greenfield. He was a 1960 graduate of Commerce High School and lived most of his life in Worcester, moving to Shrewsbury several years ago. Joseph was a US Army Vietnam veteran serving from 1964 to 1967. He worked as a toll collector for The Massachusetts Turnpike Authority for many years and then at The Keebler Baking Co. and at Stop & Shop at the Worcester South Plaza. Joe loved to follow sports and was a loyal Boston Red Sox fan.
     His family suggests you honor and remember Joe with memorial donations to The Alzheimer’s Association , Massachusetts / New Hampshire, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown MA 02472 or MA Veterans Shelter, 69 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605.
     The Funeral will be Tuesday May 28th from THE RONEY FUNERAL HOME, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton followed by the celebration of a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 17 Waterville St., North Grafton. He will then be laid to rest with military honors at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. All are welcomed to a calling hour with his family from 9 to 10 am Tuesday May 28th at the funeral home and then to join them in taking him to St. Mary’s Church for his Funeral Mass.
