Subscription Update Obituary

     Joseph B. Smith, 86, of 4 Spring St., died Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester.
     He was the husband of Ann A. (Small) Smith who died in 2005. He leaves two sons, Thomas J. Smith, Sr. and his wife Beverly and Joseph M. Smith and his wife Candice; four daughters, Nancy E. Burdette and her husband Robert, Catherine A. Driscoll and her husband James, Jr., Cynthia M. Hayes and her husband Mark and Patricia J. Brazeau and her husband Paul all of Spencer; a sister, Dorothy Smith of Glastonbury, CT; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
     Born in Brookfield, he was the son of Burton & Eileen B. (Mahaney) Smith. Mr. Smith worked at Quaboag Rubber in North Brookfield as a wheel wright for 27 years, retiring in 1991. He served his country in the Army during WWII. He was a member of the American Legion Post 138 in Spencer and the D.A.V. After retiring, he spent many years maintaining O’Gara Park in Spencer. He always had a solution to any problem that arose.
     At the family’s request Funeral Services are Private. Burial with Military Honors will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton at the convenience of the family.
     Donations may be made in Joseph’s name to the American Diabetes Association , 10 Speen St., 2nd Floor, Framingham, MA 01701. The J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., is directing arrangements.
