Subscription Update Obituary

Joseph A. Bishop, 41, of Worcester, passed away Wednesday, September 27th while visiting in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Joe is survived by a daughter, Samantha Bishop of Webster; his mother, Patricia (Sullivan) Bishop of Worcester; two brothers, John P. Bishop of Worcester and James W. Bishop of Valrico, Florida; a sister, Jodi M. Laflash of Oxford; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was born in Worcester. His father Victor Bishop passed away May 8th. Joe graduated from Burncoat High School and has lived here all his life.

Joe worked as a truck driver for Aggregate Industries in Grafton. He was a member of the Liberty Assembly of God Church in Shrewsbury, The Teamsters Local 170 and The Improved Order of Eagles Lodge. Joe was an active outdoors sports adventurer. He was a skydiver, scuba diver, and motorcycle enthusiast. Joe was a U.S. Army Veteran.

Joe’s funeral will be held Friday, October 6th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a service at 10:00 a.m. in the Liberty Assembly of God Church, 495 Hartford Turnpike Rd., Rte 20, Shrewsbury. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Friends and family are invited to visit with the family from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 5th in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Liberty Assembly of God Church, Dream Center, Boston Turnpike Rd., Shrewsbury, MA 01545.
