Subscription Update Obituary

Jose Manuel Torres Lanzo, 66, passed away Friday, November 28 in St. Vincent Hospital.

He leaves his sister, Noemi Torres Lanzo and her husband, Ezequiel Vegas Perez; a brother, Moises Torres Lanzo and his wife, Ruth Torres; a god daughter, Jasmin Denham; a son, Hector Torres and his wife, Lily Torres; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Ramon Torres, Jr., Joann Torres Rivera, Hilda Torres, Brian A. Vega Torres, Kevin J. Vega Torres, Nevaeh R. Vega Torres, Ruth Nahomi Torres, Sharon Lee Matos, Moises Torres, Jr., Leezmarie Torres, Yamaira Rivera and Tamairi Torres and extended family, Nilsa Rosario, Elias Rosario, Marcos “Mickey” Naranjo and Jose “Cheo” Grajales. His parents, Ramon Torres Rivera and Augustina Lanzo Marquez; a sister, Raquel Torres Lanzo and a brother, Ramon Torres Lanzo all predeceased him. Pito as he was known to family and friends was born in San Juan, PR and graduated from Luiz Hernaiz Veronne High School before moving to Worcester at the age of 19.

Pito worked at the Cano Corporation in Fitchburg, although his true passion was being under a car, working. He also worked as a security guard, before retiring.  Over the years he became well known for his kindness, love, smile and his many jokes. He was an amazing son, father, uncle and friend to many.

Visiting Hours are Thursday December 4 from 4 to 7pm at Callahan Fay Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, December 5 at 10am in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
