John W. Allen, 93, of 40 Killdeer Island Rd., passed away Thursday, May 15, 2008, in Hubbard Regional Hospital. His beloved wife of almost 69 years, Antoinette A. (Ouellette) Allen, passed away July 13, 2004.

   Mr. Allen also leaves behind his loving family, including one son, John B. Allen and his wife Linda of Eastham; three daughters, Pauline wife of Carl Gunnard, Jane wife of James Rossetti, and Gail wife of Ronald Cain, all of Webster and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was born in Oxford, son of Nelson and Aurelia (Germain) Allen and worked as a machinist for Reed Rolled Thread Die in Holden before moving to Dennisport and then to Webster in 1995. Mr. Allen was a former manager at Sterling Airport and held a commercial airline pilots license. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and retired as a Lt. Colonel. While in Dennisport, he was a commercial lobster fisherman on his boat “Trident”.

   There are no calling hours. Mr. Allen’s funeral service will be private and at the convenience of the family, at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. The Robert J. Miller Funeral Home and Lake Chapel, 366 School St., is assisting Mr. Allen’s family with arrangements.
