Subscription Update Obituary

     John P. “Phil” Reardon, 81, of Worcester, passed away peacefully at home among his loving family on Tuesday, February 11.

     Phil was married for 30 years to his loving wife Marcia R. (Duchaine) Reardon who died in 1989. He is survived by two sons, Jack P. Reardon and his wife, Mary and Michael J. Reardon and his wife, Kathleen, all of Worcester; two brothers, Richard Reardon of Boylston and Gerald Reardon of Worcester; a sister, Virginia McInerny of Worcester; 5 grandsons, Zachary, Aaron, Matthew, Mitchell and William Reardon as well as many nephews and nieces.

     Mr. Reardon was born in Worcester, son of the late Dennis J. and Kathryn R. (Scanlon) Reardon and is also predeceased by 3 brothers, William, Joseph and Donald Reardon. Phil graduated from Worcester Boys Trade and enlisted in the United States Army where he served as Staff Sergeant during the Korean War.

     Phil worked for many years as a machinist at the Morgan Construction Company and he was a member of Christ the King Church as well as the Main South American Legion Post #341. He enjoyed many things, some of his favorite were; walking, doing crossword puzzles, working out at the local YMCA branches, but most of all spending time with his family watching football games on television.

     The funeral will be held on Saturday, February 15 from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Christ the King Church 1052 Pleasant St. Burial with military honors will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are on Friday, February 14 from 4 to 7 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the JHC Hospice at 629 Salisbury Street Worcester, MA 01609.
