Subscription Update Obituary

    John N. Suire, 63, of Cook St., died Thursday, January 13, 2011 unexpectedly at UMass Memorial Health Care-University Campus, Worcester.

    He leaves his wife of 42 years, Sheila A. (Casamassima) Suire; his son and best friend, Johnny A. Suire and his wife Dawn of Rutland; his daughter, Catherine M. Smith and her husband David of Swanzey, New Hampshire; three brothers, Lurcy James Suire and his wife Sandra, Eddie and Nelton Suire all of DeRidder, Louisiana; and four grandchildren, Tristan and Alexandra Suire, and Andrew and Mathew Smith; and several nieces and nephews. He was born in Abbeville, Louisiana the son of Ada and Gladys (Richard) Suire. John lived in Holden from 1968 to 1992, moved to Louisiana and then to Mississippi in 1996, returning to Holden in 2009.

    John graduated from DeRidder High School in Louisiana and after graduating served in the U.S. Army. He moved to Holden in 1968. He worked for M. Casino and Sons Painting Contractors until 1989 at which time he established John Suire and Son Painting Contracting in Holden before moving back to Louisiana and Mississippi in 1992. While in Mississippi, he worked for Harrah’s Entertainment for 14 years. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed deep sea fishing and was an enthusiastic Patriot’s fan.

    Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, January 17th in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. The funeral for John will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 18th, in the funeral home with burial following in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association , 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
