John J. “Jack” Sullivan, 89, of Auburn’s Pakachoag Village, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, August 14, 2025. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Elsie E. (Grace) Sullivan, who passed in 2012.

He leaves his devoted children, John Sullivan, Stacey McCurley and her husband Kevin, and Jodi Doherty and her husband Jeff; two cherished grandchildren, Kaelen McCurley and Cameron Sullivan; his siblings, Brian Sullivan, and Mary Giangrande and her husband Robert; and a niece, Elizabeth Giangrande. Jack was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Beverly Sullivan.

Jack was born in Worcester, son of the late John L. and Elizabeth A. (Houlihan) Sullivan. He graduated from Sacred Heart Academy, Class of 1954, before enlisting in the U.S. Navy toward the end of the Korean Conflict. He served his country proudly, prior to his honorable discharge. Upon returning home, Jack worked for Harrington Richardson until 1960, then began his career at David Clark Co. in Worcester. He retired after 42 years, as Medical Products Department Manager, in 2002.

Jack was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus Alhambra Chapter, initiated in Southbridge and volunteered in Spencer. He was a Civil Defense (Volunteer) Firefighter for the Worcester Fire Department for several years.

In his free time, Jack enjoyed spending time at his home with his beloved cats, Molly and Terrence, and could often be found building model cars and ships to display on his bookcase. He was a perfectionist with the details, and was proud of his collection.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jack’s name to the Worcester Animal Rescue League (www.worcesterarl.org/donate), or to your favorite animal shelter or charity.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Jack’s family between 10 – 11 AM on Wednesday August 20th at the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn, followed by a prayer service. Burial with military honors will be held at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
