Joan Marie (Safford) Hetherman, 73, of Webster formerly of West Boylston, passed away at home surrounded by her family Wednesday, February 8, 2012. Her husband of 34 years, Joseph E. Hetherman passed away in 2006. She leaves three children: Debby Norton of Hernando, FL, David Woodard of Webster and Julie Smith of Keystone Heights, FL; daughter-in-law, Kim Hill of California; two brothers: George and David Andrews; two sisters: Carol Gedman and Beverly Andrews; 18 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; two brothers-in-law: Jerry and Jimmy Hetherman; two sisters-in-law: Ann and Mary Hetherman; nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. She was predeceased by her son, Ralph E. Woodard, Jr., her daughter, Gloria Osgood, her stepfather, George Andrews and her brother-in-law, Francis Hetherman.

Joan was born October 3, 1938 the daughter of Clinton and Anna (Andrews) Safford. Joan was devoted to her family and friends and will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

Visiting hours for Joan will be Thursday, February 9 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester. A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 10 at 12:00 PM in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Ave., Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure , Attn: Donor Services, PO Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309.
