Subscription Update Obituary

   Jennie J. (Carlson) Larson, 99, died Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at her daughter's home. She leaves 2 children, V. Lois and her husband Jack Scott of Charlton and Dennis Larson of Spencer and his wife Sharon; 8 grandchildren, Deborah and Tom Chase of Dudley, David and Tina Bennett of Southbridge, Donna and Moe Bracken of North Brookfield, Lisa and Keith Rogers of Holland, Nils and Kim Larson of Ct, Kristen Larson of Shrewsbury, Mark Larson of Worcester, and Carl Larson of Wyoming; 16 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by one brother, Eric Rudy Carlson and two sisters, Helga Nelson and Margaret Westberg.

   Jennie was born in Worcester, daughter of Eric A. and Edla M. (Soderman) Carlson. She worked at Norton Company for over 27 years in the Blue Printing Engineering Department. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and its Esther Group in Worcester, the Norton Ladies 25 year club, The Oxford Tenants Association, The Golden Age of Oxford, The Vasa Lodge- Order of Viking, and served as the Financial Secretary of Birka Lodge. Jennie was also the only surviving charter member of the SAC Athletic Club in Shrewsbury. She enjoyed traveling, crosswords, knitting, crocheting and was an expert Bridge player.

   The family would like to extend a special thank you to Suzanne Randall of Sturbridge who devoted the past year too Jennie's well being, and to Pam Hartwell of Oxford, a faithful friend for four years.

   Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Please omit flowers. Donations can be made to the Lutheran Healthcare Center, 25 Harvard St., Worcester, MA 01609, or the charity of your choice.
