Jennie B. (DeFalco) Raymond, 84, formerly of Hamill Road in Worcester, passed away Monday, March 16, 2009, in The Saint Francis Home in Worcester. Her husband, Arthur L. Raymond, pre-deceased her in 1970.

Jennie is survived by a son, Arthur J. "Joe" Raymond and his wife Debra of Worcester; two daughters, Patricia Hakenson and her husband Russell of Worcester, and Jean Dunkerly and her husband Jay of Cherry Valley; a half sister, Caroline Wetherford in Missouri; seven grandchildren, Scott Hakenson, Brian Hakenson, Matthew Raymond, Tyler Raymond, Jay Dunkerly, Jr, Jesse Dunkerly, and Becca Dunkerly; and six great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Jennie was born and raised in Worcester, the daughter of Josephine DeFalco; and was a die-hard New York Yankee fan. She worked in the housekeeping department at UMass Hospital, for many years, before she retired. Her life was spent enjoying time with her family, whom she loved with all her heart. She was loved by all, and will be very dearly missed.

Jennie's family would like to extend a special thank you to the workers and care givers at Saint Francis Home, for their kindness and care.

The funeral for Jennie will be held Wednesday, March 18, from MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, with a Mass at 11:30 a.m. in Saint Peter's Church, 929 Main Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. The family would like to receive visitors during calling hours on Wednesday morning from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. in the funeral home, before departing for church.
