Jeffrey J. O’Brien, 17, of Carleton Road in Leicester, passed away Monday, December 3, 2007, in UMass Hospital in Worcester.

He leaves his parents, Karen J. (Caforio) O’Brien and Michael J. O’Brien, Sr.; three brothers, Michael J. O’Brien, Jr. of Plainfield, Vermont, Andrew J. and Cody J. O’Brien both of Rochdale; his maternal grandmother, Joan (Manning) Caforio of Millbury; his paternal grandparents James and Madeline (Pratt) O’Brien of Leicester; great grandmothers, Edna Rutherford and Adeline Pratt; his best friend, David Sherman of Spencer; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. His grandfather, John A. Caforio, Sr. passed away September 24, 2007. Jeffery was born in Worcester on February 1, 1990, and has lived in Leicester all his life.

Jeffrey was a Senior at Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical High School in Charlton, where he was studying to become a plumber. He loved restoring his Monte Carlo SS, hunting, fishing, snow mobiling, and four wheeling. He loved life and everyone that was a part of his, he could take a bad day and make it good.

Jeffrey was the best kid any parent could ask for, and was the greatest brother. He had a natural talent for whatever he tried to accomplish, and was a willing and patient teacher. Jeffrey would help anyone at anytime. During his grandfather’s last months, Jeffrey gave unselfishly of himself toward his care and comfort.

Jeffrey’s funeral will be held Saturday, December 8, at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Pius X Church, 1154 Main Street, Leicester (please precede directly to church). Interment beside his grandfather, will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held Friday, December 7, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to The Jeffrey J. O’Brien Scholarship Fund in Care of Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical High School, Business Office, 57 Old Mugget Hill Road, Charlton, MA 01507
