Jeannette Gibree passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at the Saint Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at the age of 89, surrounded by loving family. Jan, or “Nana” as she was known to so many, was born in Worcester, June 22, 1935. She attended and graduated from Commerce High School. She went on to marry the boy across the street and love of her life, George Gibree, and have three sons.
Jan was full of life and had endless amounts of energy. She was hysterically funny, always quick with a witty joke, although sometimes fresh, but she was also incredibly loving and compassionate. She truly lived to take care of others. Jan always wanted to go out and have fun and she lived her life to the fullest. Her door was always open and she loved to have visitors at any time of day or night. Jan was best known for her incredible baking and cooking and she used these skills to feed the community in her work at Stan’s Sub Shop, where she worked for her long time friend, Stanley Tarka, for many years. Prior to that, she was a lunch guard at the Dartmouth Street School.

Jan is predeceased by her husband of nearly 70 years, George Gibree, and by her parents, Leo and Albina Beauregard. She leaves behind her three sons, William Gibree and his wife, Susan, Paul Gibree and his wife, Sharon and Thomas Gibree and his wife, Maryann. She is also survived by her 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Nana had an incredibly close bond with her many grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom are left with countless memories of the wonderful time spent with Nana and will miss her greatly. Private burial services will be held for immediate family in the spring, when she and her husband will be laid to rest together. DIRSA – MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street has care of the funeral arrangements.
