Subscription Update Obituary

    Jeanne R. (Champagny) Riel, 83, of Spencer, died Monday, December 13, 2010 at home.

    Her husband of 46 years, Norman A. Riel, died in 2000. She leaves three sons: Bart Riel and his wife Elisa of Spencer, Norman Riel of Worcester, and Gregory Riel of Spencer; a sister, Helen Nagle of Worcester; six grandchildren: Angelina, Ian, Tiana, John, Clayton, and Kayla; and a niece, Nancy Raptis. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Elmar and Helen (Chrzasciewski) Champagny, and lived in Worcester many years before moving to Spencer.

    The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 16, at 11:00 AM at Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave. Worcester. A calling hour will be held Thursday, December 16 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to T&G Santa Fund, c/o Commerce Bank, P.O. Box 15204, Worcester, MA 01615-0204.
