Jean M. (Peloquin) Ploof, 76, of Worcester, formerly of South Grafton, passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2013, exactly three years after her loving husband, Adelord J. “Bud” Ploof, to whom she had been married for fifty-one years.
Jean was like a mom to many. She leaves a daughter, Susan K. Hosker and her husband Robert of Grafton; two sons, David A. Ploof and his wife Debbie of Loveland, Ohio and Gordon K. Ploof and Sigrid Heinichen of Worcester; seven grandchildren, Kimberly, Melanie and Stephanie Hosker, Adam and Nicole Ploof, Reece and Eric Conard; a great grandson, Darren Yahnian; many nieces and nephews. She was born in the family home in Worcester, to Edward J. and Irene L. (Chevalier) Peloquin, and lived in the same house for over sixty years, before moving to Grafton, where she lived for several years, before returning to Worcester in 2011. She was the last surviving sibling of seven.
Jean worked as a waitress for many years at Dino’s Restaurant in Worcester, and had previously worked at the former Howard Johnson’s Restaurant in Shrewsbury. She was a member of Holy Family/Saint Joseph Church. She enjoyed bowling, quilting, sewing and the excitement of casinos. After retiring she became a member of “Dino’s Girls”.
Calling hours for Jean will be held on Tuesday, January 15, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 16, from the funeral home departing in procession at 9:40 a.m. for a Mass at 10 a.m. in Holy Family/Saint Joseph Church, 35 Hamilton Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
