Subscription Update Obituary

     Jean Carolina (Person) McLemore, passed away peacefully Friday, December 9, 2011, with her family by her side. Jean was born June 29, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of Ellis and Ruth (Bergstrom) Person. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Jack McLemore.

     She leaves a daughter, Patricia Sanders, wife of Kendall Sanders; 3 grandsons, Adam Sanders of Worcester, Petty Officer First Class Justin Sanders and his wife Bobbi Sanders of Jacksonville, FL; and Walter Sanders of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 3 great-grandchildren, Christopher, Kendall, and Savannah Sanders of Jacksonville, FL; one sister, Sylvia May of Myrtle Beach, SC; and several nieces and nephews.

     She retired from Thom McAn Co. in 1986 after 20 years as a senior audit clerk. Jean was a long-time member of Greendale People’s Church, past president of the Greendale Retired Women’s Club, past commander of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary (DAVA), and life-time member of VFW Post 6907 (West Boylston). She volunteered for many years at Veterans Inc. in Worcester.

     Calling hours will be held from 5-8 p.m. at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Tuesday, Dec. 13. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. in Greendale People’s Church on Wednesday, Dec. 14. Burial will be private in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Fund at Greendale People’s Church, 25 Francis St., Worcester MA 01606.
