Subscription Update Obituary

Janie (Gaskell) Palmer, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, December 19, 2006 in the Parson Hill Nursing Home. Born in Bolton, England in 1911, she was the daughter of William and Emily Gaskell. She along with her younger sister Bessie and parents came to the United States in 1919. Her younger brother Frank was born in the US.

Married to Edmond Palmer in 1932, her husband predeceased her in 1969. She is survived by her only son Clayton and his wife Carol of Worcester, her six grandchildren, Michael and wife Michelle of Auburn, Linda Morrison of Worcester, Denise Bowie and husband Aaron of Worcester, Donna Huff and husband Dan of McKinney, TX, Stephen of Chester Springs, PA, and Christine of Worcester. She is also survived by her nine great-grandchildren, Kelly, Sean, Jessica Morrison, Patrick Bowie, Jessica and David Huff, and Stefani, Nicole and Matthew Palmer.

She last worked for Israel Real Estate as the office manager for 30 years from 1968 to 1998 finally retiring at the age of 87. She loved her work and always had a smile for the many people she came to know. She mostly loved her son, his children and her great grand-children all of whom loved her very much and will miss her.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, December 22, 2006 at Caswell King Funeral Home, 474 Grove St, Worcester, MA. Calling hours will be held Thursday, December 21, from 5PM to 8PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association – MA Chapter, 311 Arsenal St, Watertown, MA 02472.
