Janice Santos, 37, of Worcester died June 8, 2011, in her home. Janice leaves behind her three cherished children, Ricardo “Ricky” Pereira, Jr., Nathaniel and Natalie Felix all of Worcester; her parents, Fernando Santos, Sr. and Antonia (Figueroa) Santos in Puerto Rico; two brothers, Fernando Santos, Jr., and Nelson Santos in Puerto Rico and her twin devoted sister, Denise Santos and her husband Abimael Isales all of Worcester; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico. She attended at Worcester Girls Trade High in’87-89′ later in the late 80’s transferred and graduated from Luz America Calderon High School in Carolina, Puerto Rico. Janice has lived in Worcester since the age of 6 but then her family moved to Puerto Rico for a while, but was not accustomed and decided to move back to Worcester where she practically lived the rest of her life. Janice was a Senior Supervisor for the Worcester Superior Court Probation Department in the Worcester Court House. She previously worked in the Westboro Superior Court.
Janice was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, loyal friend and co worker. She cherished her family, her job, her friends and her church. She was a member of the Iglesia de Dios “La Ultima Reserva” church, where she taught bible study and sang in the choir with her sister.
Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Wednesday, June 15th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral service will be held Thursday, June 16th at 11:00 a.m. in the Iglesias de Dios “La Ultima Reserva” Church, 24 Hamilton St., Worcester. Please go directly to church. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Memorial contributions in Janice’s name may be made to the Janice Santos Children’s Memorial Fund, care of any Sovereign Bank Branch Location.
