Janet L. (Gable) Flood, 75, died Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Marlborough Hospital.

    Janet was predeceased by her husband, Donald F. Flood, Sr., who died in 1989. She is survived by two sons, Jack Flood of Andover and Thomas Flood of Oxford; three daughters, Donna Flood of Maryland, Janet Surrette of Natick and LoriAnn Short of Northborough; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; her sister, Anita Benware of Sterling; her brother, Robert Gable of Indiana; among her cousins, Janet Wentzell; as well as many nieces and nephews. Janet was predeceased by her son, Donald F. Flood, Jr., who died in 1979 and her sister, Grace Maisonet. Born and raised in Clinton, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Stella (Lavoie) Gable. Janet had been a resident of Northborough for the past 48 years.

    Janet was a graduate of Clinton High School. She graduated from Worcester State College with a B.A. in Criminal Justice. She was a 38 year charter member of the Northborough Area Community Chorus and a volunteer at the Proctor Elementary School in Northborough.

    A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 244 West Main Street, Northborough. Burial will be private in Worcester County Memorial Park. Calling hours will be held Friday, January 15, 2010 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Hays funeral Home, 56 Main Street (Rte. 20) Northborough.
