Jane B. (Bevan) Hanley, 87, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully at home, on Wednesday, September 10th, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Ethel (Hoglund) Bevan and James Bevan.

She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Hanley, and her daughter, Karen Pardee.

Born in 1938, Jane spent the majority of her life in Worcester, where she became well known for her kind heart, hardworking nature, and her witty banter. Jane loved spending time with family whether it was down on the Cape, at her sister’s lake house, or exploring neighborhoods with her late cousin Nancy Bevan.

For many years, she worked at the Sheraton-Lincoln Hotel in Worcester as a banquet waitress, where she was cherished by her colleagues and guests alike. Over the course of her long career, Jane formed many lasting friendships that she treasured deeply. She always went out of her way to make people feel welcomed by bringing humor and a smile to every interaction.

Jane is survived by her two sons, Gary Hanley and his wife Angie, and Greg Hanley. She was a proud grandmother to her granddaughters, Ashley Hayes and her wife Emily, Sarah Pardee, and Alise Belba. Additionally, she is also survived by her sister Shirley Santley and her son in-law Lenny Bergstrom.

Throughout her life, Jane touched many hearts with her warmth and grace. She was a woman who valued her family, her friendships, and the simple joys of life. While she will be dearly missed by all who knew her, her spirit and kindness will live on in the memories of those who loved her.

Family and friends are welcomed to a celebration of Jane’s life on Tuesday, September 16th from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester. The burial will be held privately for the family.
