Subscription Update Obituary

   Jane A. (Porajecki) Amster, 91, of 10 South Olean St., died Friday, December 21, 2007 in Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester.

   Her husband of 64 years, George Amster, died on June 3, 2000. She leaves two daughters, Patricia J. George of Harwich and Nancy F. Ormondroyd of Worcester; 5 grandchildren, Jane Carmichael of Auburn, Michelle George and Kim Hajdu both of Sterling, Jennifer Brothers and Tom Ormondroyd both of Westboro; 7 great-grandchildren, Brittany & Ryan Brothers and Tia Ormondroyd of Westboro, Kara and Melissa Carmichael of Auburn and Noah and Jacob Hajdu of Sterling. A son, G. Richard Amster of Warwick, RI, died in 1994, and a sister, Frances Geib of Portsmouth, VI, predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of John and Frances (Los) Porajecki, and was a life-long resident of Worcester.

   Mrs. Amster was a graduate of Commerce High School and was a retiree from Astra Pharmaceutical. She was a founding member of St. Catherine of Sweden Church, a member of Christ the King Church and its Women's Social Club and Guild. She was also a member of the Paxton Women's Club and the Friends of the Holden Council on Aging.

   Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 26th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. in Christ the King Church, Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Donations may be made to the Christ the King Church Memorial Fund, 1052 Pleasant St., Worcester, MA 01602.
