Subscription Update Obituary

   James Vincent Golden, 89, of Worcester, died Tuesday, March 31, 2009 in St. Vincent Hospital.

   He leaves his wife of 62 years, Agnes L. (Fitzpatrick) Golden; two children, Mary Lou Walsh, and James Vincent Golden Jr. and his wife Joyce, all of Worcester; three grandchildren, Carolyn, Edward and Laura Golden; two nephews and a niece. He was predeceased his brother Patrick Golden and two sisters, Mary North and Catherine Green.

   Mr. Golden was born in Worcester, son of Patrick and Catherine (Mee) Golden, and attended St. John's School.

   He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army infantry in the European African Middle Eastern Theater including the 1944 invasion of Anzio, Italy.

   Mr. Golden was a machinist at the Wyman-Gordon Co. where he worked for 60 years.

   He was a member of Christ the King Parish and the Tatnuck American Legion Post 288. He enjoyed working around his house and yard.

   Calling hours at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester, are Thursday, April 2 from 5 to 8 p.m. The funeral will be Friday, April 3, from the funeral home with a Mass at Noon in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant St., Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
