Subscription Update Obituary

James T. Fleming, Sr., 84, of 15 Edward St., died Tuesday, December 26, 2006 in the Hermitage Nursing Home, after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 59 years, Lorraine E. (Arell) Fleming; two sons, Michael J. Fleming and his wife RoseAnn and James T. Fleming; two brothers, John and William Fleming; a sister, Margaret Fleming all of Worcester; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; his son-in-law, Stephen A. Miller of Rutland; nieces and nephews. A daughter, Elizabeth “Betty” J. Miller of Rutland, died in August. Two brothers, Michael F. and Jeremiah J. Fleming, and a sister, Julia Walsh, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Timothy and Margaret (Twoomey) Fleming and lived in Worcester his entire life. He was a graduate of Worcester Boys Trade.

Mr. Fleming was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in the 143rd Anti Aircraft Artillery Gun Battalion in the European and African theaters. He was a circulation truck driver for the Worcester Telegram & Gazette for over 20 years, retiring in 1985. Previously he was a route manager for Lee’s Milk Co. in Worcester where he worked for 20 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church and the VFW Post 6907 of West Boylston.

The funeral service for Mr. Fleming will be held on Friday, December 29, from the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 43 Belmont St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Fatima Church, 43 Belmont St., Worcester, MA 01605.
