Subscription Update Obituary

    James Mahoney, 80, of 149 Riverlin St., died Wednesday, June 10, 2009, in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home, after a long illness. His wife of 53 years, Josephine H. (Bettley) Mahoney, died December 20, 2004. He leaves three daughters, Patricia A. Rudzinski and her husband David, Dianne M. Mitchell and her husband David all of Worcester, Kathleen A. Cote and her companion Brian Barthelmes of Grafton; three sons, Michael T. Mahoney and his wife Sharon of Oxford, Daniel J. Mahoney and his wife Babette of Rochdale, James E. Mahoney of Worcester; 12 grandchildren; 2 great granddaughters and many nieces and nephews. Five brothers and two sisters predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Thomas and Catherine (Doherty) Mahoney, and was an Army Veteran of World War II. He also served as a Squad Leader in the Army National Guard.


    Jim worked at General Electric/Timex for 44 years, until he retired in 1993. He was a member of St. Brigid Church and the Sportsman’s Clubs in Auburn and South Grafton. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his family.


    The family would like to thank the staff of the Rose Monahan Hospice Home and Jim’s many friends for providing him with loving care.


    CALLING HOURS are 10:15 to 12:15 P.M. SATURDAY, June 13, in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln Street, Worcester, followed by a FUNERAL MASS at 1 P.M. at ST. BRIGID CHURCH, 59 Main Street, Millbury. After cremation, burial will be at the convenience of the family in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, MA.
