James John Reece, 74, of Wagon Wheel Lane, Brookfield, died August 15, 1991 in the emergency room at Harrington Memorial Hospital, Southbridge. Born May 27, 1917 in Worcester, he was the son of the late John Stanley and Julia (Clark) Reece. Mr. Reece graduated from South High School. On June 14, 1941 he married the former Alice E. Johnson in Auburn. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Mr. Reece served in France and Germany during World War II. A stationary engineer, he retired from New England Electric after a 25 year career. Following Alice's death in 1976, Mr. Reece married Sophia Kasprzak in St. Joseph's Church, Auburn on May 29, 1977. He leaves his widow Sophia, one son, James Johnson Reece of Rockford, Illinois, three sisters, Marion Jane (Joseph) Brodeur of Oxford, Winifred M. (Warren) of Worcester and Mary G. (Alfred) Gauthier of Petersham, stepchildren, stepgrandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held Saturday, August 17 from the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn with a mass at 9 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Auburn. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday.
