Subscription Update Obituary

     James H. Finnegan, 70, of Worcester passed away on May 14th, 2013 after a short illness.
He was the owner of Finnegan Photographers and Past President of the Webster Square Business Association.
     Jim leaves his beloved wife of 40 years, Patricia A. (Smith) Finnegan, along with several nieces and nephews.
     He was born in Worcester, son of the late Anna B. (Sweeney) Finnegan and Peter E. Finnegan Sr. He was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph P. Finnegan Sr. and Peter E. Finnegan Jr.
     Jim was a graduate of St. Peter’s Central Catholic High School, Class of 1962. He earned a degree in Broadcasting from the former Graham Jr. College in Boston. He began his career as an on-air personality in Great Barrington, and worked for other radio stations in Western Massachusetts, including WCAT in Orange, WHMP in Northampton, and WMNB in North Adams.
He returned to Worcester in 1974, and worked for the Worcester Telegram & Gazette in the Retail Advertising Department, and then moved to the National Advertising Division.
In 1987, he opened Finnegan Photographers, and was still working at the time of his death.
He was a longtime Communicant of St. Peter’s/St. Andrew the Apostle Parish. He was a member of the Worcester Regional Area Chamber of Commerce, the Webster Square Business Association, the North Worcester Business Association, Worcester Local First, Central Mass Professional Photographers Guild, the New England Professional Photographers Association, and the Professional Photographers of America.
     Calling hours are Friday, May 17, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral will be held Saturday, May 18 from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Peter’s Church, 931 Main St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
