James H. Conner, 97, of 86 Willow Ave., Bradford, formerly of Dodge Hill Road, owner of a tool-making business, died Friday in Cape Cod Hospital, Hyannis, after he was stricken ill while on vacation in Harwich. His wife, Elsie (Tell) Conner, died in 1985. He leaves a daughter, Marilyn M. Descheneau of Bradford, with whom he lived; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was born and raised in Saxtons River, Vt., son of Wesley W. and Rhoda (Fredette) Conner, and lived many years in Millbury and 15 years in Sutton before moving to Bradford in 1994.  Mr. Conner was a toolmaker for 26 years at B.O. Paine Co. in Millbury. He then founded Central Tool Co., a tool-making business in Millbury, which he owned and operated for many years. He retired in 1992 at age 90.  Mr. Conner was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Worcester and sang for many years in its choir. He held several offices in the church.  A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Lindquist- Lundin Funeral Home, 36 Butler St., Worcester.  A calling hour is 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Emanuel Lutheran Church, Memorial Fund, 200 Greenwood St., Worcester, MA 01607.
