Subscription Update Obituary

Jacqueline “Jackie” L. Hartwell, 70, of 574 Prospect Street, passed away in her home Saturday, July 9, 2005, after a long illness.

She leaves her husband, Douglas C. Hartwell Sr. with whom she celebrated her 50th anniversary on July 2, 2005; three sons, Douglas C. Hartwell Jr. of Simi Valley, California, David C. Hartwell and Daniel C. Hartwell both of Worcester; a daughter, Lorraine Hartwell of West Boylston; four brothers, Stephen, Theodore, Robert and Ronald White; five sisters, Audrey DiPilato, Sandra Dunkerly, Geraldine Breault, Colleen Russell and Sharyn Paquette; two beloved grandsons, Leif Hartwell and Charles P. Hartwell; nieces and nephews; A brother Frederick White predeceased her. She was born on February 28, 1935 in Worcester, daughter of Stephen and Julia (Hall) White, and lived most of her life in the Worcester area.

Mrs. Hartwell was a dedicated wife and mother. She lived a life of service and devoted 20 years to her patients while working as a C.N.A. for the Visiting Nurses Association of Worcester. She was also a licensed hairdresser and cake decorator. She attended the Holden Chapel for many years and was a believing, devoted Christian and wonderful role model to many. She enjoyed country-western music and “good-clean” fun. She enjoyed exercising at the YMCA with her son when she was able. Jacqueline will be forever remembered for her strong mind and her kind heart.

The memorial service for Mrs. Hartwell will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 14, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road (Rte.12), Sterling. Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 14, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the International Myeloma Foundation, 12650 Riverside Drive, Suite 206, North Hollywood, CA 91607-3421.
