     Isabella “Lisa” (Palermo) Caracciolo, of Worcester, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 28th 2012 with family gathered beside her.
Lisa was born in Worcester, a daughter of Domenic and Mary (Mastropasqua) Palermo and has lived here all her life.
     Lisa’s husband of 50 years Rocco “Rocky” F. Caracciolo passed away in 1996. She is survived by the family she so cherished, her six children, Robert G. Caracciolo and his wife Jean, Dennis P. “Carrots” Caracciolo, Jay A. Caracciolo and his wife Eileen, David P. Caracciolo, Mary E. Woodbury and her husband John, Paul A. Caracciolo and his wife Kathee; 10 grandchildren, she cherished, Jason, Gina, Conor, Nicholas, Lisa, Corey, Zachary, Rocco, Cameron, and Chad; five great grandchildren; Many nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends. A brother, Vincent Palermo and a sister, Anna Lepore both pre deceased her.
     Lisa began her employed years working for the former Boulevard Market, She then worked for Johnson Steel & Wire, and finally the last 24 years as a Technician for the Worcester Foundation for Experimental Biology in Shrewsbury before retiring.
     Lisa was a member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, its Golden Years and Ladies Auxiliary and the Eastside Post 201, Ladies Auxiliary. Lisa traveled during the winter months to Delray Beach Florida and became involved as a member of the Italian Club, Delray Beach American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Christian Club. Lisa was a dignified woman, who lead her family as Matriarch, caring for and counseling them on life and its future. She found inspiration in their success and the fulfillment of helping others. She could light up any room she entered and people found much comfort in her presence.
     Lisa Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, March 1st at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St. Burial next to her husband will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Calling hours are Private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Umass Memorial Home Healthcare, 650 Lincoln St 01605 or the Steve Palermo Endowment for Spinal Cord Injury Research, care of Kansas University, Gift Processing Department, P.O.Box 928, Lawrence, KS 66044-0928.
     The Caracciolo Family would like to thank the Umass Memorial Healthcare Dr Theo Myers, Maggie, Cathi, Gina and the staff for all the care, comfort and consideration they gave to our mother during a difficult time.
