Subscription Update Obituary

     Irene R. (Bartley) Irwin, 93, of Auburn, died Sunday, February 27, 2011, surrounded by her loving family.

     Her husband, Francis W. “Frank” Irwin, Sr. died in 1999.

     She leaves her four children: Francis W. Irwin, Jr and his wife Connie and Richard J. Irwin and his wife Denise, both of Auburn, Joan L. Boisvert and her husband Robert of Dudley and Dolores A. Malooly and her husband Clifford of Auburn; 10 grandchildren (Peter, Donna, Lisa, Craig, Dean, Megan, Melanie, Frankie, Kim and Elizabeth) and 12 great grandchildren (Justin, Zack, Katherine, Dylan, Nick, Ava, Tessa, Lauren, Jenna, Tyler, Abbey, and Alannah.) She was predeceased by her daughter, Gloria Fenuccio in 1997 and her two brothers: Robert and Edward Bartley. She was born and raised in Charlton, daughter of the late Albert E. and Jennie (Beckwith) Bartley. She graduated from Oxford High School, Class of 1934.

     Irene worked for many years in manufacturing. She began working for the former MKM Hosiery of Rochdale for many years, then Harrington-Richardson Company in Worcester. She retired from Briscon Electric in Auburn. Irene was an avid handicapper and accomplished kegler. She was a longtime member of Saint Joseph’s Parish in Auburn.

     The family wants to express its appreciation for the loving care from Jan of UMASS Hospice. Exceptional and thoughtful service was provided by The Webster Manor.

     Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, March 4th from 5-7 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, March 5th from the funeral home with a Mass celebrated at 10 AM in Saint Joseph’s Church, 189 Oxford Street, Auburn. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
