Subscription Update Obituary

Irene M. (Sklarz) Brunyak, 77, of Shrewsbury died Monday, September 26, 2011 in UMass Memorial Medical Center, after an illness.

Her husband Walter F. Brunyak died in 1995.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Brunyak-Allen and husband Douglas Allen, of Westport, her son Mark and wife Maryellen Brunyak and son Michael and wife Gail Brunyak, all of Shrewsbury, along with four loving grandchildren: David, Elizabeth, Nicole and Tyler. She leaves behind her brothers: Walter Sklarz of Worcester, Stanley Sklarz of Oxford, and her sisters: Helen Smith and Anne Rauer, both of Worcester, Rosemarie Coulard of Oxford, and Jean Whitaker of California.

The daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Lizewski) Sklarz, she was born and raised in Worcester where she graduated from Commerce High School.

Irene was a noted cook and gardener. She enjoyed spending time with family, and taking trips to the casino.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visiting hour on Friday, September 30, 2011 from 10-11 AM in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street. Her funeral service will be held Friday at 11 AM in the funeral home followed by burial in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
