Subscription Update Obituary

      Irene L. (Savage) Drake, 89, of Worcester died Wednesday, December 18th in the Christopher House. Her husband, Granville C. Drake died in 1991. She leaves a son, John F. Drake; three daughters, Joanne L. Dunston, Kathleen M. Sundstrom and Nancy E. Drake all of Worcester; a sister, Margaret Skarbek of Bradford; a granddaughter, Nichole Morrison; four great grandchildren, Tylor, Brianna, Ereka and Vincent John. She was predeceased by a son, David M. Drake; a granddaughter, Jennifer Valenti; three brothers, John, Francis and Timothy Savage and four sisters, Helen Savage, Mary Welch, Catherine Anderson and Sr. Marie Ann.

     She was born in Worcester daughter of Patrick and Johanna (Lucy) Savage and has lived here all her life. She attended Ascension High School and made certain that her children were brought up in the Catholic religion. Irene was a member of the former Our Lady of Fatima Church. She worked in various manufacturing companies in Worcester and also worked as a home health aide for Upjohn Company until her mid to late 50’s, she was loved by all her clients.

     Funeral services and burial will be private. There are no calling hours. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue is directing arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association , 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472 or to The Christopher House, c/o the Activity Fund, 10 Mary Scano Drive, Worcester, MA 01605.
