Mrs. Irene B. (Caranchini) Garabedian, of Christopher House died Tuesday after an illness.
Her husband Heik P. Garabedian died in 1983. She leaves a daughter, Shirley A. wife of Robert E. Demers of Old Orchard Beach, ME, two grandsons; Gilbert E. Smith, Jr. and his wife Robin of Indian Rocks Beach, FL, and Richard W. Smith of Worcester, one granddaughter Lorilee Thomas and her companion Joseph Valastro of Worcester. She also leaves 3 great grandsons, Justin, Tyler and Kyle Smith, and three great granddaughters, Erica and Nikole Smith and Kerri Sullivan, as well as her two great great granddaughters Emilee Donahue and Kelsey McCormick. A brother Urano S. N. Caranchini, and a great grandson Jason Michael Sullivan predeceased her.
She was born in Bethel, Vermont, the daughter of the late Plinio and Barbara (Peduzzi) Coranchini. She moved to Worcester in 1929. She attended Dix Street School and Worcester Girls Trade.
Mrs. Garabedian was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, The United Methodist Golden Ages, the Worcester Historical Society, the Mechanics Hall Association and was a former member of the North Worcester Aid Society, all of which she was very active in until her mid –eighties.
Mrs. Garabedian was a homemaker who excelled in cooking and baking and was very creative in several art projects.
At her request, there will be no calling hours. Committal of her cremated remains will be private and held at the convenience of the family in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
