Subscription Update Obituary

Irene A. (Katauskas) Mamavich, 83, of Worcester, died Wednesday, January 17 in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center. Her husband, Frank J. Mamavich, died in 1999.

She leaves a daughter, Michelle Moore of Worcester; a brother, Paul Kay of Winter Haven, CA., and nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a sister, Adele Katauskas of Worcester and a brother, Joseph Kay of Springfield. She was born in Worcester, a daughter of Peter and Anna (Karaishis) Katauskas and lived here all her life.

Mrs. Mamavich was a homemaker. She was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, and was stationed in Cleveland, Ohio and Aeia, Hawaii. She graduated from the former Commerce High School.

Irene was a member of St. Casimir Church, the Knights of Lithuania, Council 26, the Lithuanian Charitable Society, and the former Mothers Guild of the former St. Casimir School.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, January 20, from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Casimir Church, 41 Providence St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. There are no calling hours.
