Subscription Update Obituary

     Howard “Pappy” M. Ranks Sr., 90, formerly of Charlton, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2012 at Kindred Hospital after a short illness.
     His wife Helen (Williams) Ranks died in 1997. He leaves 4 sons, Howard M. Ranks Jr. of Warren, Steven P Ranks of Fairview Heights, Ill, Thomas W. Ranks of West Brookfield, Robert A. Ranks of Southbridge; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Olan Ranks Jr.
     He served in the US Army during WWII.
     Howard owned and operated Red’s welding in Charlton for many years. He enjoyed trips to Maine, fishing, hunting and frequent trips for breakfast with his granddaughter Becky Ranks.
     His funeral will be held at 8:00 PM, Saturday, October 20, in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St., Southbridge. Burial will military honors will be private in Worcester County Memorial Park. Calling hours are 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the funeral home prior to the service.
