Subscription Update Obituary

Howard D. Beressi, 89, of DeCosta Circle, formerly of Auburn and Worcester, passed away, Tuesday, July 18, 2006, in Harborside Nursing Home, Falmouth. He leaves his wife, Josephine E. (Simanskas) (Berthiaume) Beressi; two sons, Howard J. Beressi and his wife, Janice of Hernando, Florida, and Joseph S. Beressi of New Bedford; a step-son, Raymond Berthiaume and his wife, Linda of Rochdale; three step-daughters, Theresa M. Coakley and her husband, James of Sterling, Carol Koza and Nancy Monroe both of Worcester; two sisters, Barbara Guillette of Coventry, Connecticut, and Lois Normandin in Florida; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and ten step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. His first wife, Carmella (Ciccarelli) Beressi, predeceased him in 1968. He was born in Worcester, the son of Sandorf and Mary (Putrus) Beressi, and attended Worcester public schools. He lived in Worcester and Auburn for many years, before moving to East Falmouth in 1980.

Mr. Beressi worked as the Tool Department Manager for the Ocean State Job Lot for several years, before retiring in 1991. He had previously been a wood worker for Crompton and Knowles Company for nearly twenty-six years, retiring in 1977. He was a member of Saint Patrick’s Church in Falmouth.
