Howard “Howie” A. Pelkey, Jr., 49, 1970 Barre Road, Wheelright, MA died on Monday February 16 in Mary Lane Hospital, Ware.
Mr. Pelkey leaves his wife of 15 years, Diane L. (Thibeault) Pelkey of Wheelright; three sons: Christopher G. Pelkey and Dennis H. Pelkey, both of Worcester and David W. Pelkey of Sturbridge; his mother Angelina (Guenette) Pelkey of Millbury; a brother, George Pelkey of Oxford; a sister Rita Bernard of Millbury; two stepsons: Keith Hasselstrom of Stafford, VA and Everett Hasselstrom of Henderson, KY and three grandchildren: Rachel Hasselstrom of Henderson, KY and Kaleb and Reagan Hasselstrom of Stafford, VA; and several nephews and nieces. Mr. Pelkey was born in Worcester, son of Howard A. Pelkey, Sr.
He was a veteran of the National Guard and worked for the Providence and Worcester Railroad as a welder/mechanic and millwright.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Alfred Roy and sons Funeral Home, 12 Hammond Street, Worcester on Thursday, February 19. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions made be made to Christian Children’s Friend, 2821 Emerywood Parkway, Richmond, VA 23294.
