Herbert T. Mawdsley, 88, of 25 Acushnet Ave., died Sunday, August 23, in Saint Vincent Hospital after a long and courageous battle with Leukemia. He leaves his wife, Ellen T. (Foley) Mawdsley; two sons, Herbert T. Mawdsley, Jr. of Shrewsbury and Richard Mawdsley of Worcester; a sister, Elizabeth Wade of N. Brookfield; nine grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren.
He was a WWII Navy veteran. Mr. Mawdsley was a machinist at Vellumoid Co. in Worcester for almost 40 years retiring in 1985. He was a member of Wellspring United Methodist Church.
Services and burial will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wellspring United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 35, Shrewsbury, MA 01545. Howard C. Allen Funeral Home, 653 Main St., Shrewsbury is handling arrangements.
